Design Week
promotes design related events taking place in Ireland. There are walks, talks,
launches, debates, clinics, exhibitions, and workshops. Design Week, originally
an initiative of the Institute of Designers in Ireland has grown to include numerous
design organisations, academic institutions, local authorities, collectives and
individuals all organising design related events across the island.
Design Week takes place this year from today the
4th-10th November. There are two really interesting
looking and free workshops for families and teens taking place this weekend during
Design Week in Dublin.
The first one is for families and it is
called ArchKIDtecture: family design
workshop – you learn to design your own house. It is on in Malahide Pastoral Centre (Saturday
9th November: two workshops at 2-3.30pm and 3.30-5pm).
There is also
a teen focused workshop on creating architectural installations in IMMA which
is run in association with Irish Architecture Foundation called IAF at Imma: Teen
Create which takes place from 2-4.30pm.
