Biodiversity Events

Dublin City Council is celebrating National Biodiversity Week with a series of free, family friendly events which offer an opportunity to explore Dublin’s natural heritage. Events include dawn (for those of you who are energetic enough to get yourself out of bed!) and dusk choruses in city parks with Bird Watch Ireland and displays and walks on native lizards on North Bull Island on International Biodiversity Day, Thursday 22nd May.

National Biodiversity Week Events include:

· Tuesday 20th May 7.30pm, Dusk Chorus, St. Anne’s Park (meet car park by James Larkin Road)

· Thursday 22nd May 7.30pm, Dusk Chorus, St. Anne’s Park (meet Band Stand near Herbert Park Pond)

· Thursday 22nd May, 10am to 4.30pm, International Day of Biodiversity, Bull Island – observe live native lizards and amphibians in a display by the Herpetological Society of Ireland , join them in the dunes at 12 noon and 3 pm to try and find them , touch and feel real sea creatures at our touch pool exhibitions. Get advice from marine Bioligist Sarah Varian, arts and crafts all day.

· Saturday 24th May, 4.30am, Dawn Chorus, Liffey Valley Park (meet St. Mary’s Ave off Sarsfield Rd)
